If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn’t know who to call. NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook will start requiring people to switch to a new profile format known as Timeline, making photos, links and personal musings from the past much easier to find.

Timeline is essentially a scrapbook of your whole life on Facebook, compared with a snapshot of you today found on Facebook’s traditional profile page. Once activated, Timeline replaces the current profile.

Islamic fundamentalist sect, Boko Haram, has given reasons for its multiple attacks in Kanoon Friday. Nearly 200 persons died in the attacks. The group’s spokesperson, Abul Qaqa, told journalists in a telephone interview on Sunday, that the group struck the city in order to prove its worth to security agencies and Kano State Government.

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — President Barack Obama insisted Wednesday that the United States does not fear China, even as he announced a new security agreement with Australia that is widely viewed as a response to Beijing’s growing aggressiveness.

PHCN workers protest deployment of soldiers to facilities

Lagos – The Lagos/ Ogun Chapter of National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE)  on Tuesday said that its members decided to go on strike to protest the deployment of soldiers to PHCN facilities.

Mr Mbang Etukube, Chairman of the chapter, in  telephone interview in Lagos said that the protest would continue until the directive was reversed.

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has passed on after several rounds of sexual bout in his girlfriend’s house in Benin City.
The news came as a rude shock to residents and family members to the late corps member who was earlier posted to Jigawa State but returned to Edo State to continue the one year mandatory service because of the killings in the North.
